Do you take insurance?

Our therapists are in-network with most major insurances including United Healthcare, Optum, UMR, Oscar, Medical Mutual, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, Ohiohealthy, Caresource, and Medicaid. It is important to understand your specific insurance plan. We would recommend that prior to coming in, you call your insurance company and ask the following questions:

  • What is my deductible for in-network mental health coverage and how much more needs to be met before my full benefits kick in?
  • What is my copay and/or coinsurance?
  • Is there a limit to how many sessions are covered per year? If so, how many?
  • What is the plan year? (Jan 1-Dec 31?)
  • Are my behavioral health benefits serviced by a different insurance company than my medical benefits? For example, some have Medical Mutual medical benefits, but the behavioral health coverage is through UHC/Optum.

*Of note, to bill insurance companies for your mental health sessions, you must meet the insurance company's Meaning of Medical Necessity, therefore a diagnosis of mental illness will be made and submitted to your insurance company. Insurance companies will not pay a claim without a medical, or in behavioral health, a mental health diagnosis. If you have questions about this, feel free to ask!

Where are you located?

Our office is located at 635 Park Meadow Rd. Ste. 203 Westerville, OH 43081. Our office is located on the second floor with only stair access. We are able to provide telehealth services to any one who is a resident of Ohio.

Who do you work with?

At the moment we work with adolescents (13+) and adults. We hope to be able to offer therapy for children in the future.

How long will I be in therapy?

This is a hard one. It is nearly impossible to predict how long therapy may last for you. Some people come in wanting to work on a very specific issue, yet through the process find that therapy has been helpful for them in ways beyond what they imagined. When this happens, many people begin to view therapy as another form of self-care, just like going to the gym or adopting any other healthy lifestyle change and this leads to incorporating regular therapy sessions into their life.

But, even if you are hoping to address an issue and hoping to be finished within 4-6 sessions, then we probably aren’t the right practice for you. We are a team of therapists that are highly relational and we deeply value your growth, which can take time. Ultimately, you will decide where we go in therapy, the pace, and when you feel that your therapy has come to an end.

What should I expect when working with you?

You should expect to meet with a therapist who is warm, highly skilled, and collaborative. Typically, sessions occur on a weekly basis but this can change depending on your needs. We will take care of billing your insurance company and communicating with you if any issues should arise.

Is couples therapy covered by insurance?

We cannot guarantee that couples and family sessions will be covered by your insurance. After your therapist completes your diagnostic assessment they will be able to determine if your diagnosis and treatment plan meets the requirements set forth by insurance companies for reimbursement. If insurance will not cover the cost of your therapy, your therapist will discuss our self-pay rates with you.

What is the No Surprises Act and a Good Faith Estimate?

As of 01/01/22, the No Surprises Act was implemented to prevent patients/clients from receiving unexpected medical bills. While the majority of this Act applies to emergency medical services and in-network hospitals that employ out-of-network providers, some information applies to all medical service providers.

The No Surprises Act requires that all providers supply a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services to self-pay/uninsured clients or clients who elect not to use their health insurance plan for a desired service. Self pay clients can expect to pay $150 for diagnostic sessions (the initial 1-2 sessions) and $140 for each session thereafter. Payment is due at the time of the session. Insured clients can request a Good Faith Estimate, however the cost of psychotherapy will depend entirely on the client's specific insurance plan.
