Therapy for People in Columbus, Ohio

We get it. You’re either doing all of the things you can think of to get back on track - exercise, eating better, getting more sleep, but it’s just not working.

Or, maybe you know what you should be doing but you just can’t seem to find the energy or motivation to start. And, it’s also very possible that you just feel like you have no clue where to start. Well, that’s where you’re wrong. Simply because you are here, reading this, the work has already started. For many, the idea of starting therapy can be nerve-wracking and kind of scary. Acknowledging that you might benefit from talking to someone and then actually doing the legwork to find the right therapist is a HUGE step in the right direction. All that’s left is to reach out.

THERAPY SERVICES:

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is exactly as it sounds - you and your therapist. Sessions typically occur on a weekly basis to start and are approximately 50-60 minutes in length. Initially, the focus will be on building a relationship with your therapist and completing a thorough diagnostic assessment. Then, you and your therapist will decide on your treatment goals. And from there, the journey begins!

diagnostic session: $150
Subsequent Therapy session: $140

Couples and Family Therapy

Couples therapy includes you, your partner, and your therapist. The first priority is to establish a good relationship with your therapist and decide on goals. Most of the hard work will be done outside of the session. Whether you want to strengthen your relationship or would like help with a separation, infidelity, lack of intimacy, or poor communication, we can help. We can also help families overcome communication difficulties, conflict, blending families, and trauma recovery.

Is Our Approach Right For You?

If you’ve talked to others who have worked with a therapist, you may have heard how important it is to find someone you click with. Different therapists have different styles, approaches, and personalities and finding the right one for you is the key to having the best outcome possible. We may not be the right fit for everyone and that is okay! If you’re still not sure whether Sequoia is the right place for you, please look below to see if giving us a call would be worth your time:

Probably so, if you are...

Open to an exploratory, eclectic, and less structured approach

Willing to do the real work outside of your therapy session in order to meet your goals

Open-minded, curious, and open to self-reflection

Aware that change takes time and are committed to the process

Maybe not, if you are...

Wanting a more structured approach

Looking for a quick fix or easy answer

Not willing or able to self-reflect or do the work on the issue that brings you to therapy in the first place

The Process

Step One  |  Let’s Chat!

Schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. During this call, your therapist will have an opportunity to introduce themselves to you and you can briefly describe what led to your interest in therapy. Your therapist can then answer any questions you might have and further explain the process. If it feels like a good fit, then let’s get you scheduled. If it doesn’t feel quite right, the therapist you speak with can help point you in a better direction. Even if you decide not to work with us, let us help you find the right person.

Step Two  |  Time to Get Scheduled!

If both you and your therapist feel like it’s a match then it’s time to get you on the schedule. Once you are scheduled, you will receive an email to set up your online client portal. This includes a few questionnaires which will help your therapist get to know you a little bit more before your first appointment. We will also ask that you upload standard insurance, demographic, and payment information. Once this information is uploaded, you’ll be ready to go!

Step Three  |  Meet With Your Therapist

The legwork is officially done and now you’re booked and ready to go. Your first few sessions will be about building rapport with your therapist and getting to know one another. Having a strong relationship with your therapist is the cornerstone of good therapy and will set the tone for the work that you will do together.
